Earlier today at Gamescom, Konami and PES Productions released a new gameplay-focused trailer showing off PES 2018, out on PS4, Xbox One and PC on 14th September. They also provided a few new details on new Legend players, and, crucially, revealed when fans will be able to try the game for themselves, with the date for the release of the demo set for 30th Auguston PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The demo will feature nineclubs; FC Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool FC, Inter, SC Corinthians, CR Flamengo, CA Boca Juniors, River Plate, Colo-Colo, as well as national sidesGermany, Argentina and Brazil. Allowing for exhibition and co-op matches in an offline setting only, the stadiums available are the Camp Nou and Signal Iduna Park. The new trailer focused on showing off this year's fluid gameplay, drastically improved visuals, and animations, but didn't really reveal anything new, nor highlight any new mechanics specifically. The likes of Lewandowski, Hazzard, Suarez and Coutinho are all on show (though Phil should have been in an LFC kit, by the way, we all know FSG's stance by now!) and you can watch the trailer for yourself, see below. [embedded content] There were also plenty of new Legend players revealed via a separate trailer. Former Dortmund players Michael Zorc, Norbert Dickel, Jrg Heinrich, Karl-Heinz Riedle and Lars Ricken will be available, as well as the Liverpool striker trio of Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen. That's in addition to former England captain David Beckham, who was already officially unveiled a few days ago with a separate trailer highlighting that goal against Greece, and Diego Maradona, first introduced to us at E3. Elsewhere, there's also news of four new national team licences, in the way of England, Wales, Belgium and Poland. [embedded content] While details were promised about the PES League for PES 2018, the reality is there was only a slither of information on the structuring of it this time. The first round will start this winter, presumably quite soon after launch, with both the second and third scheduled for spring and the final in summer. It's a shame there wasn't anything else about qualifying information or changes to last year's system, but in fairness, that component of the game probably won't get the developer's full attention until after the game has launched. With a week to kill between now and the 30th AugustPES 2018 demo, be sure to check out Cubed3's on-going coverage. It started with a hands-on from Anfield, ofexhibition and three vs. three gameplay, which was followed by a Glass to the Wall podcast interviewing the PES Global Product and Brand Manager, Adam Bhatti, and impressions of the online beta from last month.
